Ione Chipper Days
Welcome to Ione Chipper Days, a community-driven initiative dedicated to promoting wildfire safety and environmental sustainability in our beautiful region. In partnership with the WA DNR Firewise Program and Pend Oreille County Fire District 2, this annual event offers residents an easy and effective way to reduce fire hazards while contributing to a greener, safer community.
What Is Ione Chipper Days?
Ione Chipper Days is designed to help homeowners and landowners create defensible spaces around their properties by offering free wood chipping services. Bring your tree limbs, brush, and other vegetation debris, and our team will chip them into mulch. These wood chips are then available for community use—perfect for landscaping, gardening, and erosion control.
Why Participate?
-
Enhance Fire Safety: Reduce potential fuel sources around your property and help protect your home and neighborhood from wildfire risks.
-
Support Sustainability: Turn yard waste into useful mulch instead of sending it to the landfill.
-
Strengthen Community Bonds: Join your neighbors in this collaborative effort to make our area safer and more beautiful.

Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for enthusiastic community members to help make Ione Chipper Days a success! Volunteers can assist with organizing materials, directing traffic, and distributing mulch. This is a great way to give back to your community while learning about wildfire safety.
